Hello and welcome!
I am grateful for the opportunity to aid in your education this school year. I'm a graduate of Kent State University where I earned my bachelors degree in education with a concentration in integrated social studies (grades 7-12). I have received my masters in teaching from Ashland University. During my time in college I was a member of the Ohio Army National Guard where I was deployed overseas as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. I also had the privilege of aiding in the Hurricane Katrina relief effort in southern Mississippi. In addition to my teaching I also serve as a part of the eighth grade coaching staff for football where I enjoy building a closer dynamic with our student athletes. In my free time I enjoy traveling, a variety of outdoor activities, and spending time with my son Tanner, my daughter Taylor, and my black lab Reese. |
My goal in teaching is to promote an educational environment that encourages student academic growth and development through varied pedagogical approaches while achieving successful scoring on statewide
assessments. Within my courses I provide students with critical thinking opportunities, facilitate verbal and written expressive activities, and apply differentiated strategies that allow for student understanding of content specific topics and information. These competencies will equip students for a broad range of demands in future college and career endeavors.
